But when he drank, he was dishonest and destructive. Her mother was a free spirit who abhorred the idea of domesticity and didn't want the responsibly of raising a family. The Walls kids learned to take care of themselves. They fed, clothed, and protected one another, and eventually found their way to New York. Their parents followed them, choosing to be homeless even as their children prospered. It is truly astomishing; a memoir permeated by the intense love of a peculiar yet loyal family.
My Thoughts: The Glass Castle was truly interesting to me and I found myself unnaturally engrossed in each page. I believe Jeannette's words to be very ethical and educational; I felt like she was telling me a story that I can learn from for my future. I felt a connection with the book that lacks in most others; I knew this was the book for me, and probably you too!
